Benewah Booking Photos and Release
A booking photograph documents identity during a specific jail intake. Release does not transform it into a new photograph, nor does a photo prove the outcome of the case. A person can leave Benewah County Jail while the source booking record remains, subject to Idaho access law and any applicable exemption or later shielding.
Idaho's broad public-record concept includes photographic material, but that does not create a universal right to online publication or automatic disclosure. Law-enforcement, privacy, victim, juvenile, fair-trial, safety, and other exemptions can apply case by case. The research found no Idaho statute that compels every sheriff to post mugshots and no verified statewide anti-pay-to-remove statute.
Where Benewah Release Mugshots Appear
The source must match the custody episode. County booking photos belong with the sheriff record. State and registry images serve other official purposes and should not be relabeled.

No Benewah Mugshot App or Feed
The official Benewah County Sheriff's page offers no jail roster, recent-release page, booking-photo gallery, or mobile-app link. The Idaho Sheriffs' Association directory reinforces that access gap by marking the jail as having no website. Consequently, there is no official photo retention window or app-only display to describe.

Do not infer release from a photo vanishing or appearing elsewhere. A booking image records arrest intake, while community release requires a jail release record, court basis, and, when applicable, receiving-custodian check.
Request a Benewah Booking Photo
Send a purpose-neutral request to the Benewah County Sheriff's Office for the image tied to one identified booking. The county publishes no dedicated jail-record form, email, photo fee, or photo turnaround, so call first and ask how the custodian accepts a written request.
- Provide the person's exact name and an approximate booking date. Add the booking or court case number if known.
- Ask specifically for the booking photograph from that event, not every image in the person's history.
- Request electronic delivery when available and ask for a cost estimate before copying begins.
- If any part is withheld, ask the custodian to identify the exemption that applies to that portion.
- Keep the response with the request date and agency name so the image is not detached from its source.

The Idaho Public Records Act generally requires a response within three working days. If more time is needed, the agency may extend its response to ten working days. Complex review, exemptions, and permitted fees can affect production. Benewah has no published sheriff-specific fee schedule in the research, so ask for an estimate rather than assuming the photo is free.
Benewah Photos Beyond Sheriff Records
An IDOC Resident/Client record can contain state-custody information and imagery in some contexts. That image belongs to the state correction record and applies only where IDOC obtained jurisdiction. It should never be presented as the Benewah booking image without confirmation.
The official Idaho Sex Offender Registry publishes a current photograph among the public fields for covered registrants. It is not a general released-inmate gallery. A person must have a statutory registration duty, and ISP warns that only fingerprint verification positively identifies a person. Use the registry's correction route when a match appears wrong.
Official sheriff, prosecutor, tribal police, ISP, IDOC, or U.S. Attorney news releases may carry an image in a public case. Date and source context remain essential because the image may depict arrest, court, prison, or another event. Commercial booking sites may mirror arrest-focused, stale information. They receive no outbound links or endorsement here and cannot establish release destination.
Benewah Mugshot Correction and Removal
For a wrong identity or image in a county booking record, contact the Sheriff's Office and identify the exact event and claimed error. For an IDOC record, use IDOC's Request for Information or Records route. For a registry error, ISP directs the person to the local sheriff listed as the verification agency.
Idaho Clean Slate shielding and nonconviction expungement are distinct forms of relief. Shielding restricts public access to an eligible court record but does not destroy it. A separate ISP nonconviction-expungement process is narrower, and a withheld judgment under Idaho Code § 19-2604 does not qualify for that specific ISP process. None should be described as an automatic command to every sheriff, agency, news archive, or secondary publisher.
The research found no verified Idaho anti-pay-to-remove law, so no promise of automatic commercial deletion is supportable. Do not pay or rely on a removal service based on this guide. Seek the order or agency correction that fits the source record, then contact each lawful publisher with that documentation.
Benewah Has No Photo Publication Policy
No Benewah booking-photo feed or written online photo policy was verified. Idaho treats photographic material as a record type while permitting case-specific law-enforcement and other exemptions. That means the defensible route is a narrow request, not a claim that every booking photo must be posted or produced.
The sheriff is the correct custodian for a Benewah County booking photograph. District 1 probation and parole cannot produce it, and the Commission's parole pages do not contain the county intake image. Likewise, an IDOC or registry photo is a different official record even if it depicts the same individual.
A missing photo may reflect the channel's scope, an exemption, or access relief; it does not prove that no booking occurred.
Clean Slate and Benewah Photo Searches
Idaho Clean Slate shielding may restrict public court access after at least five years from completion of the entire eligible sentence, including supervision, fines, and restitution. Eligibility has additional limits, and shielding does not erase the underlying record. A missing iCourt result can therefore reflect access relief rather than proof that custody never occurred.
ISP's nonconviction-expungement route addresses a different record set and legal test. Court relief under § 19-2604 is also distinct. Before seeking correction or removal, identify which source holds the image and which order applies to that source.
